OneView Properties
For property managers

Add a property

Create a property in your organization, so you can add its units and start leasing them.

Before you start

You need to be a member of the organization. Any role can add a property: Owner, Administrator, Manager or Caretaker. Your organization can still be in draft. Adding properties is free, and you can set up your whole portfolio before going live.

Have the property's name and its town or neighbourhood ready. Everything else is optional and you can change it later.

1. Open your properties

In the menu, select Properties. You see every property in the organization, grouped by property group if you use them.

2. Fill in the property details

Select Add property. A form opens with these fields:

  • Property Name (required): the name your team and tenants know it by, for example "Résidence Les Palmiers". Use at least 2 characters.
  • Location: the town and neighbourhood, for example "Bastos, Yaoundé". In the Android app, Use my current location fills it in from where you are standing.
  • Property Group: put the property in a group, such as all your buildings in Douala. Leave it on No Group if you don't use groups.
  • Description: anything your team should know, such as the caretaker's hours or where the meters are.

3. Add features (optional)

Features are things every unit in the property shares, like a generator, a borehole or a laundry room. Select Add feature, type the feature and its quantity, and repeat for each one. They belong to the whole property, so you don't need to repeat them on each unit. Each unit can also have its own features.

4. Save the property

Select Create Property. The form closes, the property appears in your list, and you see "Property created successfully."

What happens next

The property is empty until you add its units. Open the property from the list and select Add unit for each apartment, studio, shop or room you rent out. You can only create a lease once the unit exists.

The person who created a property can edit it later. Owners and Administrators can edit any property.

Common problems

I don't see the button to add a property

If you also rent a home through OneView, you might be in the tenant view, which has no properties menu. Select Switch to Personnel View in the menu. If you belong to several organizations, check that you are in the right one.

I can't edit or delete a property

Only the person who created it, an Owner or an Administrator can change it. Ask one of them, or ask an Owner to change your role.

The property won't delete

You can only delete an empty property, so remove its units first. A unit that has a lease on record, even an ended one, can't be removed: its rent history stays attached to it.

I have a lot of properties to add

Typing them one by one is fine for a few. For a large portfolio, an Owner or Administrator can use Import data in the menu to load properties and units from a spreadsheet.
