View and sign your lease

Read your lease, sign it online when your landlord sends it, download the signed copy and choose how to receive a refund.

Before you start

You need to be linked to a lease: see Get into your tenant portal. Your landlord or property manager creates the lease and decides when to send it to you for signing. You only sign when they do.

1. Open your lease

In the menu, select My Leases. Each lease shows its status (Draft, Pending signature, Active or Terminated), the property, the unit and the monthly rent. Select View.

The lease page has your Lease details (rent, start and end dates), a Signature section and the Invoices issued under this lease.

2. Read the contract

Select Preview on the lease card, or View contract in the Signature section. The contract opens in a window. Select Download to keep a copy on your phone or computer.

Until your landlord sends the contract for signing, the signature section reads "Your landlord will send the contract for signing soon.".

3. Sign online

When your landlord sends the contract, the signature section reads "Your signature is required". Select Sign now.

The contract opens page by page. Fill in the boxes that need you, such as your name or the date. Some are filled in for you. Select a "Sign here" box, then choose Draw to draw your signature with your finger or mouse, Type to type your name, or Upload to use a picture of your signature. Select Apply signature.

When every box is filled, a window asks whether to go on. Select Continue, or press Sign at the bottom of the contract. The page confirms "Your signature has been recorded."

What happens next

The signature section now reads "You've signed" while your landlord countersigns. When they do, it reads "Fully executed", which means both of you have signed. Select View contract then Download to keep the signed copy.

Choose how to receive a refund

When a lease ends, your landlord may prepare a refund, for example your deposit. You get a notification, and a Refund section appears on the lease page with the amount and the status "Awaiting tenant".

  1. Choose a payout method. You only see the ones your landlord offers: Cash or Mobile money.
  2. If you choose mobile money, enter your Mobile money number. It must be an MTN number.
  3. Select Confirm choice.

Your landlord is told of your choice. OneView doesn't send the money: your landlord pays you in cash or on your MTN number, then marks the refund as paid. You can't change your choice afterwards, so ask your landlord if you picked wrong.

Common problems

My leases list is empty

Your landlord hasn't created your lease yet, or their organization is still in setup and its leases stay hidden until it goes live. Ask your property manager.

I don't see a button to sign

Your landlord hasn't sent the contract for signing yet, or you have already signed. Check the signature section for which of the two it is.

I signed on paper

Your landlord can record a paper signature on their side. Ask your property manager to do it, and the lease will show as signed here.

I don't agree with something in the contract

Talk to your landlord first, through Chats or by phone. On the signing page you can also select Decline and give a reason, which cancels this signing request and tells your landlord. They then have to send a new one.

I don't see the signed copy yet

The signed document takes a little while to be prepared once both parties have signed. Reload the lease page after a few minutes. If you still see the unsigned contract, tell your property manager.

I don't see my refund

The refund only appears once your landlord has prepared it. If your lease ended and you expect one, ask your property manager.
