Search
Find a property, unit, tenant, invoice or request from anywhere in the app.
Before you start
The search box finds a record from anywhere in the app, without going through the menu. Type a few letters of a property, a tenant or an invoice number and jump straight to it.
- Every team member can use it. It only looks inside the organization you are working in.
- It finds properties, units, tenants, invoices, maintenance requests, announcements and contract templates. It does not search payments, leases or chats.
1. Open the search box
On a computer, the box sits in the top bar, with the placeholder "Search properties, tenants, invoices…" To reach it from the keyboard, press / on any page, as long as you are not typing in another field. On a phone, open the menu: the search box is at the top.
2. Type what you remember
Type at least two characters. Below that, the box says "Keep typing to search…" Results appear as you type; you never press a button. What each kind of record is matched on:
- Properties: name, location or description.
- Units: unit name, or the name of its property. Searching a building finds its units.
- Tenants: full name or email.
- Invoices: invoice number. A fragment is enough, for example the last digits.
- Maintenance requests: title or description.
- Announcements: title.
- Contract templates: name.
The search matches the beginning of words, so "res" finds "Résidence". It ignores accents, and it forgives a small typo in a name. It doesn't forgive typos in invoice numbers.
3. Open a result
Results are grouped under the headings above, and each group shows its five best matches, the closest first. Each row shows a name and a detail line, for example the property of a unit or the status of a request. Click a row to open it. From the keyboard, use the arrow keys to move through the rows and Enter to open the one you are on. Press Escape to get back to the box.
What happens next
You land on the record's own page: a property, a tenant, an invoice, a request or an announcement. A unit opens its property, scrolled to that unit. If you see a group with five rows and not the one you want, type more of the name to narrow it.
Common problems
The search finds nothing
You see "Nothing matches “…”." when nothing matches. Check the spelling, try a shorter piece of the name, and remember the kinds of record the search covers. Only records of your current organization are searched.
The record I want isn't in the list
Each group shows only five rows. Type more letters to push the right one to the top. If it is a tenant, search the name as it was entered on their profile, or their email.
The "/" shortcut doesn't work
It does nothing while your cursor is in a field, because "/" is then just a character. Click outside the field first, or click the search box. There is no shortcut on a phone; open the menu instead.
